North High 2022 Boys Varsity Team

The North High Polar Bears played nothing short of an amazing season, but unfortunately all great things must come to an end. North High lost to Boston College High, the number one ranked team in Mass in the secon round of the Division 1 state championship. North High were the visitors to the BC High court and the atmosphere and crowd spoke for themselves the minute North walked through the doors. The first quarter was a battle between both teams as they competed shot to shot. Senior guard Oscar Pizarro after being on a hot streak had to unfortunately be benched to prevent being fouled out. With second quarter underway BC High led North by only a 3 point lead but quickly increased. With one of Norths leading scorers benched it allowed BC High to shutout Joe Okla and Ty Tabales on the scoring front. Being visitors at a school that has alwas been a very high ranked team such as BC High comes with a very loyal and organized fan section which gives them an advanatge when playing on their home court. Third quarter brought more upset to North as Oscar Pizarro was unfortunately taken out of the game due to a technical foul. North continued to fight to get back in the game but in the end it was too late. The game ended with a final score of 76-48. Many may see this as a failed season but for North it was an amazing run. This was North High’s first time in Division 1 with a fairly young team mostly occupied with Juniors and Sophmores and they went 20-3 and made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
