VJ Edgecombe is a rising basketball star from the Bahamas, known for his explosive athleticism and strong defense. He was born in 2005, and he grew up in Bimini before moving to the U.S. to chase his basketball dreams. He played at Long Island Lutheran in New York, where he became a five-star recruit and McDonalds All American.
VJ joined Baylor University for the 2024–25 season, quickly standing out as Big 12 Freshman of the Year thanks to his scoring, energy, and hustle on both ends of the court. In the 2025 NBA Draft, he was selected 3rd overall by the Philadelphia 76ers.
In his NBA debut, VJ scored an incredible 34 points, setting a new team record for most points in a rookie debut. His mix of speed, strength, and determination has made him one of the league’s most exciting young players and a proud representative of Bahamian basketball. VJ is looking to be the next big star in the NBA.
