Donald J. Trump has been elected again, becoming the 47th president of the United States. What types of changes would he implement now? Let’s begin by reviewing everything that happened in Trump’s race to become president.
Mr. Trump first announced his candidacy for the presidency on June 16, 2015. He then accepted the Republican nomination for President of the United States in July of 2016, after defeating 17 other contenders during the Republican primaries.
On November 8, 2016, Trump was elected President, becoming the first Republican in 28 years to hold the office. He won more than 2,600 counties nationwide, the most since President Ronald Reagan in 1984, and received the votes of more than 62 million Americans.
As president Trump passed record-setting tax cuts and regulatory reforms that achieved energy independence replaced NAFTA with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement He also invested $2 trillion to completely rebuild the military that launched the Space Force and obliterated ISIS. He also achieved a major breakthrough for peace in the Middle East.
Then came COVID-19, the global pandemic that changed everything. President Trump launched the largest package of financial relief in American history creating the most advanced testing system in the world to save millions of lives, and launched Operation to deliver a vaccine in record time and defeat the virus. However, many wondered whether a vaccine developed in such a short time could really be trusted. Despite these concerns, COVID-19 was officially declared over on October 13, 2022.
Now, as President Trump begins his second term, his administration is met with positive public reactions. Many Americans are either happy or at least satisfied with his victory feeling excited or optimistic about what he will do as president.
