High school internship students often face the challenge of balancing their school responsibilities with the demands of their internship. Managing schoolwork, extracurricular activities, and a part-time internship can be overwhelming at times. However, many students learn valuable time management skills through this experience, such as prioritizing tasks and staying organized. They may need to set aside specific time for homework, studying, and internship duties, making sure that neither part of their life suffers. With practice, they become better at managing their schedules and maintaining a balance that works for them.

Interns also get a chance to explore potential career paths and gain a clearer sense of what they enjoy or don’t enjoy in a job, which can help guide their future educational and career choices.

I interviewed Aiyana and Kevin. And they really like their internships and think it provides a paved future for them because they are already doing what they like ahead of other kids in school.  A quote from Aiyana is ¨i rate it a 8 and a half just cause the workload is crazy¨ This shows that even though they are doing what they like they can still be challenged by working. She also said that they get a 50$ bonus every week for working there which is cool.  A quote from Kevin was ¨Im one of 2 confirmed interns to get paid¨ which shows Kevin is more than qualified to be doing what he loves, which is working with computers at a computer IT internship.   

I interviewed Trent and he said is favorite part about internship is “getting to meet new people.” Internship opens the door for so many opportunities and for connections.

In conclusion, high school internships provide students with invaluable experiences that help them grow both personally and professionally. While managing the demands of school and work can be challenging, it teaches students essential time management skills, work ethic, and the ability to balance multiple responsibilities.
