Shai Gilgeous Alexander was the finals MVP, after taking the Oklahoma Thunders on a dominant run that led to them getting their ring and the championship.

The Thunder point guard was named the winner of the award after the game, making him the 11th player in NBA history to win both the regular-season MVP award and the Finals MVP award. He also won the western conference mvp award. 

He is the first player in 25 years to win the regular-season MVP, the scoring title and Finals MVP, since Shaquille O’Neil in 2000.

Shai averaged 30.3 points, 5.6 assist, and 4.6 rebounds per game throughout the NBA Finals. He had 29 and 12 assists in the last finals game.

The last player to accomplish the double-MVP was LeBron James when he did it in back-to-back seasons in 2012 and 2013, when LeBron James was a Miami Heat. Shai led the NBA in scoring, was good enough on defense and led the thunders on an unforgettable run this nba season.
