Not Your Regular Church

Not Your Regular Church

Soon as you walk into Faith Fellowship, you experience the presence of God. When you think about what a church may look like, you would usually think of a place with pictures of Jesus and a Crucifix, but this church is a bit different. It has more of a vibrant, young look without any of the things a regular church would have. However, you still get moved in your spirit just from being there.

Faith Fellowship is a church that stands out and is different from most of the other churches you come across.  They don’t follow a regular church year calendar like other churches. A regular church service at Faith Fellowship usually involves preaching the Bible, known as a sermon, deliverance, life advice, and ways we can implement Christ into our daily lives to win souls for God. At Faith Fellowship, they have different communities within the church, but today’s community will be about the Acting community in the Church of Faith Fellowship.

The Faith Fellowship acting community is inspired by God. Their main aim is to tell modern stories through plays  that we could all relate to but end up tying back to God as the main idea. This community also goes out of its way to become better actors.

There were many adversities faced starting up the Faith Fellowship acting community, but those obstacles either break you or make you stronger. Some obstacles that were faced by this community were consistency, availability, and dedication because making a play isn’t a one-man effort but rather a team effort.

Kayanna said, “Acting isn’t as simple as it may seem. Actors depend on the support of their cast mates, and it’s important to have a supportive and constructive community for actors to grow and thrive. I would say the community, in regards to the acting community, measures taken can be seen as other actors practicing your lines with you, giving you tips and tricks, and reminding you that you got this. The community, as in others that may not actually be a part of the drama team, this can look like buying a ticket, showing up, and saying a job well done. It boosts morale and gives an actor confidence to keep doing what they’re doing.”

The ability to walk on a stage and act for an audience is an achievement for some people, one being this community. This Community is located at 33 Waldo St, Worcester, MA 01608. It is a city in the central part of Massachusetts. For many actors, acting grants them the freedom to be another person they aren’t in real life and to show off different feelings and emotions.

We are a non-profit and literally a group of people coming together to try and do this, so the funding is pretty limited. Even though the funding is limited, we have support from the church to get props, take classes, and do whatever we need to do to sharpen our skills.

This community plans on expanding itself not only in the city of Worcester but also in other parts of the world, doing anything to put themselves out there.
