Song meanings
Butcher Vanity: Butcher Vanity shows obsessive behavior with eating and how it’s seen as bad through the eyes of a cannibal. The first line is “They say my hungers a problem” and a few lines later they say “They say I can’t keep myself from trying a bite of every plate in sight. They worship patience, a virtue they tell me gluttony is a sin but my desire is bottomless.” This is showing they cant stop since the desire is too strong for them to deny. At the end Yi-Xi says “Still praying, hopeless and in vain.” which pretty much is her saying “try and stop me but ill never stop.” I also see people say that this could hint at a binge eating disorder which I can see as well.

Static: Static is a song about using nostalgia as an escapism and being scared of the future. This is proven by the fact Miku signs “Don’t go” in semaphore which is hand and arm movements that are used to get attention of boats and is used in race cars but it’s used in the song as a dance but some people noticed this small detail a few weeks after its release. I love how cute the music video looks in this song. The art is very appealing to me.

Spoken for: This song is about Kasane Teto wanting to escape all the fame she has. She finds it extremely stressful to the point she gets nauseous every time she thinks about it. I really like how they made the music video look like the game rhythm heaven. It also reflects issues that actually happen in the music industry.

Water the roses: This song is more on the sad side. It’s about trying to maintain a relationship with a partner that’s slowly losing its spark. The main singer Gumi says in a line “I’m just a lovestruck fool but why do i wait for you?” It’s sad seeing her realize there’s no point in holding onto the relationship.

Weathergirl: This song is also sad. It’s about a girl who has a one-sided crush that never became a relationship. The use of the weather being rain is showing how much this is hurting her heart. They constantly say “Didn’t you see the news today? They said it looks like rain! I just want you to look my way.” which also can confirm this.
