Q: What string should I use?
A: I mainly use fabric cover elastic strings from amazon. Some use crystal tech but be careful because it can dry-rot in some climates!
Q: What is kandi dry rot?
A: Kandi dry rot is the natural deterioration of the elastic string used to make your bracelets and cuffs! It’s good to check your kandi, especially old kandi for dry rot as it can spread to kandi made with crystal tech causing them to just crumble! If this happens you can keep the beads don’t worry!
Q: Can I use more than pony beads?
A: Of course! Kandi is more-so the style of the bead work! I use star beads, perler beads (not often), and other charms and beads all the time!
Q: Can I only make bracelets?
A: You can make almost anything with kandi! I’ve made a wallet recently and I’ve made stars, hearts, apples and other shapes!
